About Us
FORTIMA Tłumaczenia - Edukacja - Media cooperates with experienced translators, graduates of language studies, applied linguistics and other subject areas who are constantly supplementing their knowledge through postgraduate studies and specialist courses, including courses abroad. Our editors and proof-readers cooperate with mass media and publishing firms. We have a wide range of foreign language teachers of various nationalities and specialisations.

REGULATIONS
FORTIMA Tłumaczenia - Edukacja - Media provides translation and interpreting services in accordance with the following regulations:
1.
We undertake translation and interpreting assignments after the client has provided us with an order in written form. If an order is placed by e-mail, the translation / interpreting cost must be accepted.
2.
FORTIMA also provides the following services: text editing, proof-reading and native-speaker verification.
3.
At the client's request we also provide foreign language tuition and Polish for foreigners at the client's office or location indicated by the client.
4.
Together with the order, the client should provide written instructions concerning the translation / interpreting assignment and should notify us of its purpose. A text intended for publication is subject to additional verification.
5.
Weekends and statutory non-working days are not counted in the deadline for completion of the order.
6.
Prices given are net amounts and concern one page of text (1,800 characters including spaces). The price list may be subject to change - all information is available at www.fortima.pl in the PRICE LIST section.
7.
We calculate order cost according to the source text (using the word count function in MS Word) accurate to half pages. If a text contains less than 1,800 characters it is counted as a complete page. In the event of translation verification we calculate the number of characters in the translated text.
8.
The client acquires economic copyrights as of the moment of paying the complete amount for the translation in accordance with the invoice issued by FORTIMA. The payment deadline amounts to 14 days from provision of services on the basis of an invoice sent by e-mail and/or in printed form using the Polish postal service. Invoices should be paid by bank transfer.
9.
All comments and complaints concerning written translations should be submitted in writing (appropriately justified, providing the full name of the person submitting comments) within 3 days from completion of the translation. Non-submission of comments and complaints within such deadline shall denote acceptance of the translation without reservations. All errors attributable to FORTIMA shall be corrected by FORTIMA at its own cost or a discount shall be provided appropriate to the quantity of errors. If the Commissioning Party uses the translation before making payment it shall be acknowledged that the translation has been accepted without reservations.
10.
FORTIMA is not liable for errors attributable to the quality of the text or errors or omissions in the source text. No liability is borne for errors in express translations.
11.
The client may cancel a written translation (cancellation submitted in writing), however such client is required to cover the costs of work undertaken by the translator until such time as cancellation is submitted.
12.
Cancellation of an interpreting assignment lasting 1 day may occur at the latest 2 working days before commencement of the assignment. If the assignment is cancelled after such deadline, the Commissioning Party is required to cover 50% of the costs of such order.
Cancellation of an interpreting assignment lasting 2-7 days may occur at the latest 3 working days before commencement of the assignment. If the assignment is cancelled after such deadline, the Commissioning Party is required to cover 50% of the costs of such order.
Cancellation of an interpreting assignment lasting more than 7 days may occur at the latest 7 working days before commencement of the assignment. If the assignment is cancelled after such deadline, the Commissioning Party is required to cover 30% of the costs of such order.
In the event that an interpreting assignment is cancelled after the interpreter arrives at the location, the Commissioning Party is required to pay for the first two hours.
13.
We are not liable for delay in completion of orders caused by Force Majeure, i.e. power shortage, computer failure or translator / interpreter illness etc. In the case of a translation sent by post, the translation completion date is the date on which the client is notified of completion of the assignment. We are not liable for delays in delivery of packages to the client.
14.
FORTIMA bears liability for translations exclusively limited to the cost of the services rendered.
15.
FORTIMA undertakes to perform work with all due care, applying all efforts in order for the translation to present the truest meaning of the source text.
16.
FORTIMA reserves the right to collect an advance payment before commencement of an assignment.
17.
FORTIMA has the right to pursue receivables and charge statutory interest on overdue amounts in accordance with the binding provisions of law.
18.
All information entrusted to us is treated as confidential.
19.
Clients using our services undertake not to use translation services without the intermediation of FORTIMA for a period of one year.
