FORTIMA Tłumaczenia - Edukacja - Media organises a course for audiovisual / film translation. Classes take place on Saturdays between 10am and 3pm. Individual consultations are also available. Join us today!
AUDIOVISUAL / FILM TRANSLATION COURSE
(film/tv translator, audiovisual translator)
Classes in the recording studio, translation of a dialogue list (voice-over), principles of cooperation with a speaker, recording of translation samples, preparation of subtitles for films, visit to a television studio (visit to large television studios), translation of songs for film and theatre!
The course is aimed at translators, students of linguistics and languages and persons with other education but who have experience in translation.

Classes in the recording studio
The course lasts approx. 20 hours (plus obligatory home study) for 4 weeks and takes place as a workshop. It enables you to gain additional professional qualifications and increase your employment opportunities. The audiovisual translation course is simultaneously an editing course and the skills gained may be used in other professional areas, e.g. in writing articles for magazines and newspapers, in writing books and advertising texts.
The course enables you to gain specific skills in developing Polish or foreign versions of films, performances, voice-over or subtitled multimedia presentations for cinema, television or other film industry institutions (film distributors, Filmoteka Polska, film studios etc.).
The course also includes classes in the recording studio and meetings with television speakers, together with recording translation samples and a visit to a television studio (visit to large television studios). Classes are run by a translator of audiovisual works with many years' experience and achievements in the field of film translation working for TVP S.A. Groups: 6 - 8 persons.

10th Warsaw WATCH DOCS FESTIVAL - Human Rights in Film - which will take place
on 3 - 12 December 2010. Documentary films from around the world are competing for the prize.
