Interpreting - negotiations with artists, interpreting on the film set and meetings, presentations, training courses / sessions, negotiations (consecutive interpreting), conferences and focus groups (simultaneous interpreting), language support for film and television crews.
Simultaneous interpreting (calculated in 4-hour blocks) is provided by two interpreters who change over every half hour. In exceptional circumstances, where an interpreting assignment lasts up to 2 hours, this may be undertaken by one interpreter (with his/her consent).
The interpreter's working time is calculated from the time defined in the order until the actual completion of work. All breaks are treated as the interpreter's working time. In the event of an all-day assignment the interpreter is entitled to a one-hour break with meal.
If an order is undertaken away from the interpreter's place of residence, the interpreter is entitled to a refund of travel costs, single room with bathroom in a hotel and all-day food or daily expenses.
It is recommended that the interpreter be provided with materials connected with the meeting or conference topic (agenda / program, list of attendees, reports etc. in the conference language). If the interpreter does not receive these, he/she may cancel the interpreting assignment. The interpreter may cancel the interpreting assignment if there are alterations in prior agreements, e.g. consecutive interpreting instead of simultaneous interpreting or vice versa.
The interpreter's working day may not exceed 12 hours. For interpreting assignments on non-working days and between 10pm and 6am, the rate is increased by at least 50% above the basic rate.
Translations - in the event of a specialist translation, the translator has the right to consult with an expert in a given field.
The translator is required to remain faithful to the source text, but should avoid verbatim translations, i.e. "word for word". The translator's task is to retain the sense of the source text. It is essential to maintain its character, with linguistic errors or vulgarisms included.
If an order requires work at night or on non-working days, the following additional payment is calculated:
- 50% for work on Sundays and statutory non-working days;
- 100% for work at night (from 10pm to 6am).
Confidentiality is guaranteed by all our translators.
